How different is your investment advisor?
Start with what they own.
Then ask why they own it.
Then ask what would cause them to change their minds.
RIAdvisorRatings.com does not rate, rank, endorse, or recommend investment advisors.
It organizes publicly reported holdings so investors can compare what Rhode Island advisors own –
and ask better questions about the investment process they are paying for.
Each row is one Rhode Island advisor. Reading across are its ten largest stock positions, and what each one represents as a share of that advisor's entire reported portfolio.

Reported holdings as of June 30, 2026. Exchange-traded funds are decomposed into the stocks they hold and combined with directly held positions, so an advisor who owns an index fund is shown owning the companies inside it. Cash, bonds, Treasuries and commodities are excluded; two share classes of the same company are counted once. Advisors are shown anonymously.
The same holdings, priced. Each chart splits the combined Rhode Island portfolio into valuation bands, with the S&P 500 shown alongside for scale.

Reported holdings as of June 30, 2026, with exchange-traded funds decomposed into the stocks they hold. Each of the 35 advisors is weighted equally, so a large firm does not outweigh a small one; positions within an advisor are weighted by reported market value. Figures cover the 96% of a typical advisor’s portfolio for which company financials are available.
A negative reading is worse than a high one, not a missing one. A company with no positive earnings has no meaningful price-to-earnings ratio, and one whose tangible equity has gone below zero – which share buybacks and acquired goodwill can produce – is being bought at a price backed by no tangible net worth at all. Neither is an absent reading, and both are counted as the worst case here, including in the median.
The strongest conclusion is the one the investor reaches from the data without being told what to think.
Questions that reveal whether an advisor has a distinct, disciplined investment process.
What does your firm do that distinguishes my portfolio from the portfolios shown here?
How do you decide when a stock has become too expensive to buy or continue holding?
What measurable conditions cause you to reduce or sell a position?
How do you identify a company whose financial condition is becoming weaker?
How do you measure the potential size of a loss before purchasing a stock?
How would you expect my portfolio to behave in a severe market decline?
Do you compare an individual stock with lower-risk alternatives before recommending it?
How often do you re-evaluate whether each major holding remains suitable at today's price?
Do you document what would cause the investment thesis to change?
If your largest holdings resemble a broad index, what additional investment-management service am I receiving?
RIAdvisorRatings.com does not rate, rank, endorse, or recommend investment advisors. The site organizes publicly available SEC Form 13F holdings for the Rhode Island investment advisors included in the analysis, as reported for the period ended June 30, 2026.
Where an advisor reports an exchange-traded fund, the fund is decomposed into its underlying stock positions and those positions are combined with the advisor's directly held stocks, attributed pro rata by the fund's reported market value. An advisor who owns an index fund is therefore shown owning the companies inside it. Cash, bonds, Treasuries and commodities are excluded from the stock comparison, and two share classes of the same company are counted once.
Form 13F captures only 13(f)-eligible securities. It does not include cash, bonds, most open-end mutual funds, foreign-listed securities, or short positions, and it reflects only accounts over which the advisor reports discretion. The comparison is therefore limited to reported holdings and is not a complete picture of any client portfolio, investment strategy, hedging activity, or advisory service.
Firms are compared using the same stated methodology and reporting date. The purpose is to help investors and advisors compare publicly reported holdings and formulate informed questions.
We don't answer that question. We give you better evidence with which to ask it.
